Payment and Cancellation Policy

At Thrive Veterinary Surgical Services, we value clear and consistent communication with our clients to ensure a smooth process. This payment and cancellation policy outlines the expectations for our services. 

Payment Due

Payment is due in full at the time of any service. We accept major credit and debit cards, along with Cherry and CareCredit payment plans. A processing fee is applied to all credit card transactions. Pre-approval of payment plans is required prior to treatment. Cash and checks are not accepted.

Surgery Estimates

You will be provided with a written estimate for any recommended surgical treatment. To simplify the process, estimates are provided as ranges and are good for a limited amount of time. Surgical estimates are not a guarantee of the final cost as costs may vary based on your pet’s condition, surgical needs, response to treatment, and complications. Verbal and/or written estimates will be provided for all consults, rechecks, and diagnostics.

Deposits

Deposits are required prior to all sedated and anesthetic procedures.

Pet Insurance

Acquiring pet insurance prior to your initial consultation with Thrive is highly recommended. Thrive will not alter the date of medical records when your pet is diagnosed with a surgical condition. We will help provide any medical records that are requested by your pet’s insurance company in a timely manner.

Refunds

Given the medical nature of our services, all fees are final and non-refundable except for certain unopened retail products. Retail products may be eligible for return within 10 days.

Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your pet’s appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Advance notice allows us to offer that time to another patient in need and helps us keep our schedule running smoothly. Specific cancellation fees are outlined in our new patient welcome packet.

In general, our policy includes the following:

  • Consultations and follow-up visits that are missed or cancelled within 24 business hours may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the full price of the appointment.
  • Surgical procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia that are missed or canceled within 48 business hours may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to half the lower end of the estimate.
  • Late arrivals (more than 15 minutes) for any appointment or surgery may result in rescheduling fees and/or cancellation.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to serve as many pets as possible with the highest quality of care.

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this payment and cancellation policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
